PARKER, Oswald Vicount KIA 1917

Oswald named his father Mr James Parker of "GOLDEN ACRES" Crookwell as his next of kin. He was Methodist. 5 foot, 10 1/2", weight 11 stone four with a chest measurement of 37 inches. Fair complexation with Grey eyes and light brown hair.
Oswald had served in the senior cadets for two years and the Light Horse for 18 months prior to his enlistment. Leaving Sydney 25th Oct, 1916 on the A11 HMAT Ascanius, as part of the 56th Battalion. Arriving in Devonport, England 28th Dec, 1916. He proceeded overseas to France on the SS Golden Eagle 29th Feb 1917 and transferred to the 19th Btn on 21st March 1917. He moved to the front 23rd March. He was reported missing 3rd May 1917. A court of inquiry held Dec 1917, found the he was KIA, France on 3rd May 1917.
