Henry Morgan Davill was born in Bendigo, Victoria in February 1896. He was a labourer before enlisting and his mother called P.Kisser was his nominated next of kin.
Davill first enlisted in Oaklands, S.A on the 12th of December 1914. Then he embarked on the 2nd of February 1915 on the HMAT Clan McGillvray from Melbourne. He disembarked on 2nd February 1915 at Egypt. He fought at Gallipoli and the Western Front. He was hospitalised several times due to illness and being wounded.
Davill returned to Australia 14th December 1918 and was discharged 14th April 1919.
