ALBERT BERNARD CURRIE, the son of Mr. Henry James Currie, and Mrs. S. May Currie, was born on 2nd May, 1895, at Kogarah, N.S.W., and received his education at the Goulburn High School.

He entered the Bank’s service on 27th August, 1912, at the Western Branch, Sydney, and remained there until he enlisted. Albert Bernard Currie joined the A.I.F. on 1st November, 1915, as gunner in the 6th Brigade of the Australian Field Artillery. He was promoted to second-lieutenant on 11th January, 1918, and in the following April to first lieutenant.
