PTE. LEOPOLD C. J. MUIR
While carrying in Cecil J. Coe, a wounded comrade, in France, Private Leopold C. J. Muir was shot by a sniper and subsequently died.
Private Coe also succumbed to his wounds, the date of the death of
both soldiers being July 28, 1916. A son of Mrs A. R. Muir, 15 Newry
street. North Fitzroy, Private Muir was rejected in 1914, but offering
himself again in 1915, was accepted. A younger brother is serving in
France, and his grandfather fought in the Indian and New Zealand
wars winning three medals end a laurel wreath, presented to him by
Queen Victoria.
