Sydney was a farmer and was quite a young man. When he signed up for the war he was 18, he would have had a lot of courage and he would have been a down to earth man. He was single and hard working as farming is not easy. He was english so he probobaly sounded english but he was proud of his country. He was a private in the 13th Battalion. He made it through the war and lived a good long life. He was a true Australian and proud of it.
