Son of Alfred Robert George Vinen and Violet Florence Vinen nee Stuart of New Norfolk, Tasmania.

Commenced return to Australia 22 July 1917 aboard HT Nestor disembarking on 24 September 1917 at Melbourne for onward travel to Hobart
