On 13 January 1917 marched in from 13th to Etaples, France, and then on the 20 January, Taken on Strength in the Field. On 8 February 1919, he was appointed Lance Sergeant. Fate: Returned to Australia per HMAT A28 Militiades, 19June 1919. He married Olga Christensen, 24 January 1923, in the Anglican Church, Bundaberg, Qld.
