Son of Frederick George D'Ombrain and Maude Mary D'Ombrain nee Lewis of 'Luccombe', Tennyson Street, St Kilda, Victoria.
Brother of Ray Furley Lewis D'Ombrain who returned to Australia on 11 September 1919 having served with the 8th Field Artillery Brigade and AIF Depots.
Commenced return to Australia on 31 March 1919 aboard HS Wandilla as nursing staff disembarking on 18 May 1919
