Son of William O'Connor and Caroline Mary O'Connor nee Royal of Collie, NSW formerly of Echuca, Victoria.
Brother of Michael O'Connor who returned to Australia on 9 June 1917 having served with the 45th Battalion; Edward (Edmund) Joseph O'Connor who returned to Australia on 17 November 1919 having served with the 1st Pioneer Battalion and George William O'Connor who was killed in action on 7 June 1917 while serving with the 45th Battalion and has no known grave. His name appears on Menin Gate, Ypres, Panel 27.
