Walter Louis Wilkinson was born 4th December 1898 to Henry John Wilkinson and Teresa Jane Wilkinson (born Noy). Wally's numerous brothers enlisted in WW1 when they could, and so Wally enlisted as well on the 18th of May 1916 to the 46th Battalion at Geelong in Victoria.
