James Clarence McAULAY was born in Maclean, New South Wales in 1892

His parents were John McAULAY & Katherine (Kate) TYNE

He was Killed in Action at Gallipoli on 27th August, 1915

His name is memorialised on the Australian War Memorial & the Lone Pine Memorial

Medals:  1914-15 Star, British War Medal & Victory Medal

His brother John Donald (Jack) McAULAY (SN 9187) also served in WW1 and returned to Australia in 1919

PTE. JAMES C. McAULEY, Killed in action on August 27. He was 24 years of age, and was in the field ambulance attached to the 5th infantry brigade. he was formerly employed at the Oakey Park pit,  but was more recently in charge of Glenroy school. He was a nephew of Mr. and Mrs. W. Brand, of Oakey Park. Another nephew, Pte John Syme, was killed In action in May last.
