14 May 1919: Honoured Military Medal, "The Last Hundred Days", For coolness and skill in leading his platoon during operations east of Proyart on 23/26 August 1918 when his men were being heavily shell and were disorganised. By reorganising them, he then led them with great dash to consolidate their objective. Seeing there was a trench occupied by the enemy on the right that threatened his flank, he rushed the trench alone and bombed the enemy taking 11 prisoners.
