Alfred Tarlton OLDFIELD was born in Carwoola near Queanbeyan, NSW on 23rd July, 1888

His parents were Thomas Edward OLDFIELD & Hannah FISHER who married in St Johns Church in Adaminaby on 5th June, 1881

He enlisted in Goulburn on 11th September, 1915 and embarked from Sydney with the 6th Light Horse Regiment, 15th Reinforcements on the HMAT Pera on 22nd March, 1916 - he transferred to the 4th Battalion of the Imperical Camel Corp in November, 1916

He returned to Australia on 26th March 1919 on the ship Ascanius and was discharged on 9th November, 1919 - he married Annie May REYNOLDS in 1919

Alfred died in Ashfield, Sydney on 29th July, 1951 & was cremated at Rookwood Cemetery in Sydney

His brother Edwin James OLDFIELD also served during WW1 (SN 979) He served with the NSW Expeditionary Force from 11th August 1914 and was discharged on 4th March, 1915
