Military Medal
'During the recent operations around MESSINES on the 8th and 9th June 1917 for 24 hours continuously and subsequently on the 11th June 1917 this man was in charge of a squad of stretcher-bearers working to the East and South of MESSINES. At one point on the crest of the ridge due SOUTH of MESSINES the enemy concentrated a heavy shell fire which on several occasions became intense. Private MOORE on three occasions led his squad of bearers through the enemy barrage to reach a R.A.P. at which wounded had been collected; the aid post itself was being shelled and it was essential to get the wounded away. Private Moore successfully cleared the post and got the wounded down to the Advanced Dressing Station. He showed great resource in the collecting and safe guarding of the wounded and throughout an utter disregard of personal danger.'
