Son of William O'Connor and Caroline Mary O'Connor nee Royal of Collie, NSW formerly of Echuca, Victoria.

Brother of Patrick O'Connor who returned to Australia on 13 October 1919 having served with the 45th Battalion; Edward (Edmund) Joseph O'Connor who returned to Australia on 17 November 1919 having served with the 1st Pioneer Battalion and Michael O'Connor who returned to Australia on 9 June 1917 having served wth the 45th Battalion.
