OBITUARY
Mr. Tom Croft, Guyra The death occurred suddenly on Sunday morning of Mr. Tom Croft, of Langoon Road, Guyra, a prominent local identity. He was 57 years old. Deceased, who was a grazier, held property at Milton. He leaves a widow, a son John, and a daughter, Pam. Miss Rita Croft is his sister, and Mr. J. Carroll his son-in law. Mr. Croft was a prominent Rotarian and was a member of the Chamber of Commerce, the Musical Society and the P. and A. Association. He was on active service during the first world war and was a life-long friend of Archdeacon Stammer, of Armidale. The Archdeacon was present at his funeral on Monday. Deceased who had been in Guya for almost four years formerly lived at Condobolin for many years. The Vicar (Rev. R.F. Kirby) conducted the funeral service, and Mr. George Jones read the Masonic funeral oration at the graveside. Deceased was a Past-Master of the Masonic Lodge.
