Biography

Clarence Cyril Brooks GALSWORTHY was born in 1889 at South Sea, Portsmouth, England

His parents were William Brooks GALSWORTHY and Rebecca WEST

Clarence married Margaret BARRETT in 1916 in Dubbo , NSW (Barrett was her previous married name, maiden name unknown)

He enlisted on 26th June, 1916 with the Australian Army - he was with the 19th Battalion, 16th reinforcements - Unit embarked from Sydney on HMAT Ceramic on 7th October, 1916

Clarence was Killed in Action on 10th October, 1917 in Belgium - he is buried in Tyne Cot Cemetery, Belgium and also honoured on the Australian War Memorial and the Honour Roll in Rockdale, NSW

He was awarded the British War Medal and the Victory Medal.
