Brother of 244 James Henry Dale who returned to Australia on 29 May 1917 having served with the 1st Royal Australian Naval Bridging Train and  Samuel Dale returned to Australia on 21 June 1919 having served with the 2nd Field Artillery Brigade

Husband of Emily Dale. Father of Eva Dale

 Commenced return to Australia on 23 May 1917 aboard HT Ayrshire disembarking on 17 July 1917
