Biography contributed by Geoffrey Gillon

His guardian was Sister Kate Clutterbuck, Parkerville Home, Parkerville, Western Australia.

He was 24 and the son of Edgar M. and Mary [or May] Elizabeth Bentley.

There is some doubt about his birthplace-CWGC show him as being a native of London, but the NAA record of his attestation suggests he may have been born in Swindon, in Wiltshire.

Other possibilities are Croydon 1892 and Edmonton 1895

Commemorated on Roll of Honour, Parkerville Children's Home Chapel (now housed in Parkerville Hall).
