Son of John Frederick Zantuck and Margaret Wilson Zantuck mee Byers of Colebrook, Tasmania.

Commenced return to Australia on 14 January 1919 aboard HT City of York disembarking on 27 February 1919 at Melbourne for onward travel to Hobart.

On 22 July 1919 Frederick married Irene Ruby Kaye in Launceston, Tasmania.
