He was 43 and the son of John and Margaret Ross Mackenzie.
He is one of five Australian soldiers of the Great War who are commemorated on the Tain War Memorial.
Tain (Gaelic: Baile Dhubhthaich) is a royal burgh and parish in the County of Ross, in the Highlands of Scotland.
