Son of Richard George Upjohn of Crawford Street, London, England

24 August 1914 - enlisted at Kensington, NSW, with the 4th Battalion and with the rank of Private

5 August 1915 - promoted to Lance Corporal

19 April 1916 - wounded in action, would to the right leg and left shoulder

Commenced return to Australia on 11 May 1916 aboard HS Kanowna disembarking on 18 June 1916

Medals: 1914-1915 Star, British War Medal, Victory Medal

6 June 1917 - discharged at the 2nd Military District as medically unfit due to wounding

In May 1967 he was residing in Duke Street, Kensington
