He enlisted and served as John Kenna
He was 26 and the son of John and Rebecca Racheal [Racheal?] Kenna, of Coonabarabran, New South Wales. He was known by his nickname Jim, and sometimes as Martin, his middle name.
His brother, also with the 18th Battalion, died at sea on Hospital Ship Devanha, of wounds sustained in the Dardanelles on 3rd September 1915. He was Private John Charles Kenna, Service Number 254-interred Pieta Military Cemetery Malta.
