On 28 May 1918 Albert married Alice Maude Meachan in the St. Giles Registry Office, England. Deputy Registrar W.D.P. Parkhouse officiated
Commenced return to Australia on 25 September 1919 aboard HT Mahana disembarking on the 10 November 1919

During his time aboard he was promoted on a couple occasions but was demoted due to being Court Martialled
