Add my storyBiography contributed by Stephen Brooks
Arol was the son of Samuel and Elizabeth Douglas, of Bay St., Port Melbourne, Victoria.
His older brother, 517 Pte. Leslie Victor Douglas 29th Battalion AIF, died on the way home to Australia following complications caused by influenza on 16 November 1918, aged 28.
Arol only joined the 45th Battalion in Belgium a month before he was killed by shellfire during the advance in the Battle of Messines.
