Son of Aboriginal woman named Monjel from the Oldfield River area near Esperance (who was also known as Polly), and John Connor, an Irishman who is said to have been a deserter from the British East India Company during the annexation of India

His personal effects were returned to AIF Base Records Melbourne in 1920 awaiting a claimant.
