One of the sons of Archibald and Annie Henderson, of Fernhill St., Hurlstone Park, NSW, Ludovic Henderson only enlisted 9 months before his death. Originally with the 20th Battalion he was transferred to the 57th Battalion in Egypt prior going to France. He suffered gunshot wounds to his face, chest and right arm during the Battle of Fromelles and was admitted to the 2nd Casualty Clearing Station but succumbed to his wounds on the 20 July 1916.
His brother, 1752 Pte. Colin Henderson 2nd Battalion AIF, died of wounds in England 22 May 1917, aged 21.
Their father had passed away in 1905 and their mother Annie received all of their effects and entitlements.
