Son of William R. Brisby and Elizabeth Anderson Brisby of 41 Noval Street, Auburn, NSW. Brother of Frank Brisby who was discharged in England on 24 November 1919 having served with the 17th Battalion and Daisy Brisby
During 1920 William married Grace M. Haggett in Auburn, NSW
Commened return to Australia on 9 February 1919 aboard HT Arcanius disembarking on the 26 March 1919 at Melbourne for onward trave to Sydney
