31 Oct 1917: Honoured Military Medal, Third Ypres, For courage and valuable services east of Ypres on 22 September, 1917, after having worked continuously for the previous 24 hours carrying messages in the shelled area, though very fatigued, he readily and cheerfully conveyed a message from the support line positions through heavy shell fire to the Battalion Transport lines a distance of approximately 9 miles.
