Charles Moore BONIFACE was born in Dublin, Ireland in 1882
His parents were Thomas BONIFACE & Ellen MOORE
He came to Australia in 1912 on the ship Roon and enlisted in the Australian Army in Melbourne, Victoria on 23rd March, 1916 & embarked on 20th October, 1916 from Melbourne on the HMAT Port Lincoln with the 2nd Pioneer Battalion, 6th reinforcements
He was transferred to the 5th Division Medium Trench Mortar Battery on 25th May, 1918
Charles married Winifred Victoria McINTYRE in the Parish Church in St George Dublin on 24th September, 1919 whilst he was on leave after being admitted to hospital - they had two children Elsie & Percy Thomas
He returned to Australia on 24th January, 1920 on the ship Osterley and was discharged on 7th May, 1920
Charles died on 5th October, 1973 in the Heidelberg Repatriation Hospital in Victoria aged 91 years and is buried in the Springvale Cemetery
