27 Nov 1917: | Honoured Military Cross, Announced as conferred in London Gazette 25 November 1917- For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty. He led his transport troop forward on several occasions under heavy fire, and in spite of casualties got his supplies through to the battalion dumps. By his example of coolness and determination the men in the front line were kept well supplied with rations. |
