"...3531A Private Allan Dow Heggie 21st Battalion of Carlton, Vic. A warehouseman prior to enlistment, Pte Heggie embarked with the 21st Battalion on board HMAT Demosthenes (A64) on 29 December 1915. In the Middle East he was transferred to the 60th Battalion. They arrived in France on 1 June 1916. Pte Heggie was appointed lance corporal on 15 July 1916. On 19 July 1916 Lance Corporal Heggie was killed in action at Fromelles, France. He was 24 years of age." - SOURCE (www.awm.gov.au)
