Biography contributed by Chris Buckley

Thomas was the eldest of two children of Thomas Davis Snr (b1863 in Staffordshire, England) and Florence Jane (b1864 in Warwickshire, England). Thomas Snr (a Merchant's Clerk) and Florence married in Warwickshire in 1893.

Thomas was a Farm Labourer in Warwickshire, England when he immigrated to Australia in 1912. He was a Miner in Kalgoorlie, WA when he enlisted in the AIF in 1914. Thomas was a Private (Service No:648) with 11th Infantry Battalion when he was WiA at Gallipoli Peninsular in 1915 (Shell/GSW to right thigh). Thomas was Discharged in August 1916 and worked in Perth WA as a Clerk. He enlisted (under his full name - Thomas Charlwood Davis) for Home Service in October that year, based at RAGA Barracks Fremantle, and was Discharged 'at his own request' a month later.

Thomas worked as a Fettler and in 1921 married Marjorie Linda Scott (b1899 in Quindalup, WA) in Wellington Mills. They settled in Kirup (near Collie WA) where Thomas worked as a Fettler before joing the WA Forests Depatment as a Forest Officer in the mid 1930s. Thomas and Marjorie moved to Busselton WA in the 1950s. Thomas died in 19882 and Marjorie in 1985.
