William Charles KENT was the son of Stephen KENT and Wilmot SANDRY, and one of eight children. He was known as Charley.
In 1895 he married Annie Amelia PRATT. By the time of enlistment the couple had seven children.

Driver Kent had been a blacksmith prior to enlisting and had been on active service for three years before falling to pneumonia on the 22nd February 1919.
