John Sydney Farrell
John was born at mt Mercer Victoria 1892 to John Farrell and MaryAnn Garton .
He trained with the military light horse in Melton Victoria.
His father wouldn’t sign his papers to all him to go into the arm. He enlisted
when he was old enough.
John was a farmer on the family farm.
When he enlisted his number was 2762 and he was in the 8th light horse,
19th RFTS.
When he arrived in Palestine he was assigned to the Imperial Camel Corp.
When the Camel Corp was disbanded he was in the 14th light horse , a Western Australian Unit.
He died of pyre in, a fever, on 11.10 1918
He was buried the next day in grave number 18 at the English Hospital cemetery
Damascus Syria.
