Private Edward Radford (Service No:2893) enlisted in the AIF on 14 September 1915 and was attached to 25th Infantry Battalion when he embarked on 27 October 1915 from Melbourne on board HMAT A38 Ulysses. Private Radford served in Heliopolis, Zeitoun, Tel el Kebir and Serapeum with 15th Infantry Battalion before embarking from Alexandria for Marseilles on 1 June 1916. Private Radford embarked from Devonport on 5 April 1919 and was Discharged in Hobart on 4 August 1919.

Born in 1892 in Blyth Tasmania, Edward was thirteenth of sixteen children of George Radford (b1849 in Westbury, Tasmania) and Elizabeth Jane McMahon (b1853 in Railton, Tasmania). George (a Farmer) and Elizabeth married in 1870 in Port Sorell, Tasmania and lived in Don, Sulphur Creek, Kindred and Blyth where George was a Farmer.

Edward worked as a Farmer in Blyth before enlisting in WWI and returned to Blyth following his Discharge in 1919. In 1924 in Zeehan, Edward - a Labourer - married Edna May Horsham (b1897 in Zeehan, Tasmania) - Edna was a Teacher. The couple settled in Sydney NSW  where Edward worked as a Labourer with the Department of Main Roads. Edward served with the ACMF in WWII (Private; Service No:N101672), Edna died in 1968 and Edward in 1982.
