Son of William Henry Day and Isabella Day nee Gowdeur of Kyabram, Victoria. Brother of Stanley Roy Day who was killed in action of on 4 October 1917 while serving with the 37th Battalion and has no known grave. His name appears on the Menin Gate, Ypres
