"A ROSEWOOD WELCOME.
Our correspondent writes:- A very pleasant evening was spent at the residence of Mr. J. Yates, jun., on Friday last, the occasion being a welcome home to their son, Pte. Albert Yates, who recently returned from the front. After the singing of "Home Sweet Home" and a brief speech by Mr. F. Yarrow, the evening was enjoyably passed. Songs were rendered by Misses B. Edwards and A. Ward. Refreshments, provided by the ladies, were dispensed, and the evening ended by the singing of the National Anthem." - from the Queensland Times 07 Jun 1919 (nla.gov.au)
