Biography contributed by Amber Blake

Known as Harry Blake his whole life, the effects of WWI lived with him the rest of his life.

Harry was the oldest of 8 kids, and lived in Geraldton with his wife Mary and his own 7 kids.

On return from service, he served as Caretaker for the Returned Soldiers' Institute in Geraldton, where he lived with his family. His hobby was attending the racetrack and he travelled to country meets as well as at home in Geraldton.

Harry never fully recovered from his head injury sustained in the war. He died in 1937 after a swift decline. Although not known at the time for certain, it is likely he died of severe stroke or aneurysm.

Harry is buried in Geralton, with his wife Mary and his son Lloyd who was sadly lost to illness at age 14 in 1932.
