Herbert Neville Southwell SKEFFINGTON was born in Kensington, London, England on 25th June 1884

His parents were Martin Southwell SKEFFINGTON & Mary Louisa WEARNE

Biography

Enlisted in A.I.F. 18 Aug 1914. Posted to 3rd Field Company Engineers as No.4 Sapper. Transferred to 1st Pioneer Battalion in Egypt on 9 Mar 1916. Appointed 2nd Lieutenant on 10 Jun 1916 and promoted to Lieutenant on 10 Sep 1916.

Discharged from A.I.F. on 22 Oct 1916 and appointed as 2nd Lieutenant Royal Flying Corps on 23 Oct 1916. Shot down and killed over France 28 Jul 1917 as a 2nd Lieutenant 57 Squadron  R.F.C.
