OBITUARY
MR. WALTER TERRY
After a brief illness, Mr. Walter (Wattie) Terry passed away at the residence of his niece, Mrs. S. Morley, Gladstone, on 11th August. Mr. Terry, who was 69 years of age, was the son of the late John and Eliza Terry of Cape Portland, and had resided in the district all his life. He enlisted and served in the forces of World War I. The late Mr. Terry is survived by two brothers (Thomas and Harry (Gladstone), and two sisters, Elsie (Mrs. McCarthy), Lalla), and Maude (Mrs. Jones, Launceston).
FUNERAL
A large gathering of relatives and friends, ex-servicemen and workmates from the Endurance Tin Mine were present at the funeral at Gladstone Cemetery. The pall bearers were nephews Messrs. M. Terry. T. Terry, N. McCarthy and G. Terry. Flag bearers were Messrs. H, Lawry, B. Goodyer, P. Shackel, P. Floyd. The service at the Presbyterian Church and graveside was conducted by Deaconess Beel, and the R.S.L. service was read by Mr. Jim Ponting.
