Son of John Quinnell and Ann Quinnell nee McCallum of Adelong, NSW.

Prior to enlisting he was a member of the Adelong Rifle Club

8 August 1915 - enlisted at Cootamunda, NSW with the 4th Battalion with the rank of Private, Service Number 3890

10 March 1916 - transferred to the 1st Pioneer Battalion

7 June 1916 - shrapnel wounds to the both legs 

12 July 1919 - commenced return to Australia aboard HT Indarra disembarking on 8 September 1919

11 January 1920 - Discharged at the 2nd Military Distrist ex-1st Pioneer Battalion

Husband of Elizabeth Mary Quinnell nee Tongs of Bournemouth, England. Archiblad and Elizabeth were married 25 September 1918 in Saint Clements Chucrh, Bournemouth, England. Vicar Charles Robert Stewart officiated.
