William Kennerick was born in June 1981. The exact date is unknown. William's mother was Mrs Robert, she was a widow. He was born in Plympton, South Australia, Australia. He was an only child. William was a Driver before enlisting in the army on the 28th of October, 1914. Not much else was known about William before he entered the army.
William Kennwerick was 24 years of age and 5 feet, 8 1/2 inches, when he enlisted. He enlisted in Morphettville, SA William was assigned to the 16th Infantry battalion. Just under 2 months after enlisting, he embarked on the 22nd of December. He was headed to Gallipoli. William fought on the Gallipoli warfront, ranked as a Private. It is unknown if he was injured during this time.
Unfortunately, on the 7th of August 1915, he was killed in action in the Battle of Lone Pine. A horrible loss for his mother, Mrs Robert. William sadly does not have an exact burial place but is commemorated at the Lone Pine Memorial.
We will remember him.
