His younger brother 3462A Pte. Arthur Turner also of the 53rd Battalion was killed in action the same day 19 July, 1916. Age 19.

Harry was 21 years old when he embarked from Sydney, New South Wales, on board HMAT A14 Euripides on 2 November 1915. He was a sawyer and also gave his address as same as his father in Petersham NSW. He was reported missing 19 July 1916, and his fate stayed that wat until his death was confirmed in September 1917, as killed in action 19 July 1916.

2553 Private A. Abbies stated “A. Turner and H. Turner, were reported killed in action after an enquiry had been held on July 21st, some men who came in swore to having seen their dead bodies in No Man’s Land. They were brothers and belonged to X111 platoon, C Company.”
