Biography

"...2513 (later 2513A) Private William Welsh, 49th Battalion. A labourer of Mount Morgan, Qld, with six months service in the Citizen's Military Forces (CMF), Welsh enlisted on 28 April 1916. He embarked from Brisbane on board HMAT Seang Choon (A49) with the 5th Reinforcements on 19 September 1916 and on the 23 March 1917 joined the 47th Battalion. Pte Welsh died of wounds on 13 May 1917, aged 22, and is buried at St Sever Cemetery, France." - SOURCE (www.awm.gov.au)
