Date unknown: | Honoured Distinguished Conduct Medal, On the 3-4 October, 1918, in the vicinity of Estrees, he was in charge of a party working on forward roads. Knowing that it was important that early reports should be obtained regarding the state of the roads, he went forward and made a number of reconnaissances under heavy enemy shell and machine gun fire. He later took men forward and repaired the roads. Thanks to him, the work was carried on rapidly with few casualties to the party.' |
