Biography contributed by Adelaide Botanic High School

Henry George Gregg was born in Clinton, South Australia on the 7th of June 1895. Henry's parents were Henry Gregg and Catherine (Kate) Harrison. However on Henry's enlistment form he wrote 'Uncle Richard Gregg' for the next of kin. Henry enlisted on the 2nd of March 1916 and was only 20 years old. He was given the number 3245 as his service number. While he did embark at Adelaide, he suffered from measles on board ship. This meant he was taken off the ship at Fremantle and returned to Adelaide, meaning he never went on active service.

Years later Henry had a daughter named Kathleen who was born in 1925, the mother is unknown. Henry, aged 51, died on the 26th of March 1947 in Adelaide, Australia.
