From Laurel Simmonds
Remembering today, Cpl Alfred Tuck and his mates, lost at the Battle of Fromelles. Alf lay in the mass grave for 96 years, until found, thanks to the tireless work of Lambis Englezos and a dedicated team. Alf now rests with his mates in Pheasant Wood Cemetery, Fromelles.
On his headstone are the words, chosen by the family:
A gentle man
Never forgotten, now found.
Lest We Forget.
