23 May 1919: Honoured Mention in Dispatches, Led successful raid near Albert, 30th July/1st July 1918
23 May 1919: Honoured Military Cross, The Battle of Amiens, 'For conspicuous gallantry and good leadership near Harbonnieres, 9th August 1918. He led his platoon with great determination in a rush on two enemy machine gun posts, which were holding up part of the advance, captured the positions and killed the garrisons. Later, he cleared several large enemy dug outs, and took the occupants prisoners. He advanced with his platoon in the face of point blank fire from a field gun, and captured the anti-tank gun and its crew. He showed great coolness and initiative.'
