3 Sep 1919: Honoured Distinguished Conduct Medal, Citation reads: On the 29 April 1918, at Jisr ed Damieh Bridgehead, he did excellent work with the Hotchkiss rifle. When No. 1 of the gun was killed, he took charge, and with coolness and daring selected another position, and, although under heavy fire, continued firing and inflicted heavy casualties on the enemy. On the 30 April 1918, his courage and coolness with the same gun held up the enemy's flank.
